When Simo met his half sister Dina.

Simo has decided to take care of little Dina and I am sure they have long conversations about Slovakia, Ladislav and their mother Amien. She follows him around and he shows her all his favourite places.

As you can see she has settled in well and they have there own favourite seats and rooms depending on the time day and the state of the weather. It is bitter sweet for us, it was always Simo and Sisi (FeFe) together and now Dee Dee is by his side. He  takes her out with him on some of his walks, although not as far and at a much slower pace, Sim enjoys showing her the best spots to explore.

The last flower from our Spring Bouquet Litter leaves.

StanHome Bella Elana went today,the house will seem very empty and quiet now  they have all left, she was the quietest of the three but she definitely made her  presence felt.

 She has two new homes to adjust to, one in Knightsbridge, London where her walks  will be in Hyde Park and of course shopping at Harrods, the other in the country in  Dorset, lovely walks and  a cottage by the sea, what a lucky girl.

She is so right for her new owner, she is such good company, a real home lover, she is content to just be with you and meet your friends and has been a true delight to have around the home.

We loose our 2nd flower from our beautiful Spring Bouquet,

 StanHome Bella Roxanna went to her new home today she joins Nikita and her  friends down South. We will really miss her, she has been a mini bundle of fun and  a  joy to live with.

We named her Foxi Roxi because she was everywhere moving without a sound,  she kept us on our toes but the minute you called her name there she was a mass of wagging tail and licks. There is a real joy of life about her and if Hilary decides to show her she will, I believe, do well, she is full of confidence, and says the all important "look at me".

 Hilary wanted to call her Bella but although I tried she wouldn't come to me with that name so I wait to see who wins there. She has a mind of her own as I warned Hilary.

 There will be news of her in the family circle from time to time.

Day one, foxi roxi it is i give up trying to keep to bella, only to be ignored, call Foxi Roxi and this happy fluffy bundle comes wagging and smiling eager to please.  I rest my case! 

16th June New arrival from Slovakia

 Dina Aphaia of StanHome “De-De"

  Once again Ladislav has sent us another of his wonderful    Bolognese, a little bitch Dina. Although she was never meant to  replace our precious Sisi, with the same mother there was a little apprehension as she slowly emerged from her flight crate, it was a very poignant moment.

She was so tiny, with great big eyes staring up at us unsure of what had happened to her since she woke up as normal this morning. A little ball of white trembling fluff, still able to look you square in the eyes, never doubting herself or us. After all she was 14 months old now and grown up, so she could cope with anything, but please, give me a big hug and a long cuddle, just to make you both feel better, not her, but us, you understand. 

She has settled in well and is growing in confidence each day as she becomes use to our ways and her new friends, she stands no nonsense from the older, larger dogs, but stands squarely (as all Bolognese should) and firmly, saying I am convinced " so sorry I do not understand English you see".

She is adorable, always ready for a cuddle, or a game, never sit down if you don't mean it or she's up on your lap and helps me a great deal with the computer, it seems as though she has always been with us. 

As yet we do not know if she will be a star of the stage like her half brother Simo or as I suspect a home bunny just as Fefe was, either way she has already won a place in our hearts as well as in our Bolognese family.

A Lovely Flower leaves our Spring Bouquet

 Stanhome Bella Elizabetta, the first of out Spring Bouquet Litter left today to start her new life in Devon with a truly delightful family, they traveled up by train to collect her, travelling back the next day, she has been a little treasure, loving, confident and most important a true Bolognese we will miss her a lot. 

They grow up  so quickly and time gallops ahead, I am never ready for them to leave and usually keep one from a litter, so this time it is very strange to have none left. She has yet to meet her new dad as he is away working so I await to see what he thinks of my little flower, or Blossom as she is now called.

       A Tail to Tell

Another year, another show, what a difference to the number of Bolognese entered this year, it is heart warming to see so much enthusiasm for such a wonderful breed and a lot more interest.

We all went this year,except Isabella who was on puppy patrol, even Beatrice came along, she just  loved all the attention she received as usual. Although we do not show her, having made it abundantly clear to us all, including the judge  last year that  she was "Born to Love and be Loved"  just to accept all the admiration and cuddles from everyone who meets her, not to walk around a show ring with all the rest.

Sofia in Junior Bitch came 1st, Katarina in Post Graduate Bitch also gained a 1st, not to be outshone by the girls Simo came 1st in Limit dog as well. We were very please with Eloisa who got a 1st in Maiden Bitch being handled with her usual skill by Linda and also Lorenzo who came 5th in Junior Dog being shown by Nigel.

We met up with Nikita who we havn't seen for quite a while, it was to be her and Hilary's first show. I think Hilary was the nervous one, Nikita as usual took it all in her stride. Unfortunately she developed a little skip on walking around in the ring pre-showing and we were advised to pull her out of the class. 

The good news is that on a visit to her vets for thorough examination and tests she came out with a clean bill of health and it is thought it has become a habit rather than a problem, trust our Nikita always takes the difficult route. Hopefully Hilary can cure the it and we hope to see her in the ring again this time without the added bonus of the little skip, cute though it may be. 

Simo also met one of his new home and away daughters Tisana at her first taste of a show, we await with interest to see her at Windsor where she competes for the first time with another of her litter sisters Tutti Frutti .

 The venue was very good this year a lot more room and as usual the committee turned out an excellent day for us, meeting old friends and making new ones too. 

It seemed strange not to have a puppy there this year but Sofia just entered the Junior age group by 5 days making her look very small and young. We are to have a second show this year in September which is really good news and I hope to have my new additions here  by then, Dina Aphaia, Emi Aphaia and Fabio Aphaia.  Hopefully Emi and Fabio will be competing if I can train them in time, they do not come over until the beginning of August. I look forward to that.

Easter Bolo's

Happy Easter to everyone, we had a quiet time here enjoying a nice

puppy orientated break,

Little Foxy Roxy as we call her lived up to her pet name and got into

all sorts of mischief, how does the saying go (cunning as a fox), such

a sweet name Roxanna, she is a tiny, glorious, bundle love and 

mischief,  we must have brought it on ourselves when we started to

call her  "Foxy Roxy."

Expect the unexpected with puppies around, life is never dull but it is

great fun.

Happy 1st Birthday  

Sofia sends her love to her brothers Giovanni, Lorenzo and Alberto on their 1st Birthday. She wants to say she had a good time here with 2 new toys, pink of course, baloons, a special badge , pink of course, lots of time for play  and bubbles that just disappeared into thin air!!! hope my Brothers had a good time too and you got your cards in time.  

What a year we have had, Gio, Enzo and I have had such success in the show ring while Alberto takes in the sea air and plays a round of golf each day. Such adventures for us all.
